Privacy Policy

Overview

SportStatNow is built by one person (see About) to be useful, not to harvest data. This page is the plain-English version of what we collect, why, and what you can do about it — the legal detail is here because it matters, not because we want to bury you in it. It covers what we collect, how it's used, the cookies involved, and your choices, and it gets a new "last updated" date any time something material changes (like adding ads).

What we collect

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are visited, how long sessions last, and how people navigate. These services collect usage data such as an anonymized IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and pages visited. Google Analytics sets cookies (for example _ga and _ga_*) and uses similar technologies. We have configured Google's Consent Mode v2 so that, in regions where consent is required, analytics and advertising storage default to a denied state until you grant consent (see "EEA, UK and Switzerland visitors" below). Read more in Google's own Privacy Policy.

Hosting logs

Our hosting provider, Vercel, may briefly log basic technical request data (such as IP address, timestamp, and requested URL) for security and reliability purposes — standard practice for any web server. This is separate from, and more limited than, the analytics described above, and we don't access it for tracking purposes.

What this site does and doesn't store

SportStatNow's calculators are stateless: the numbers you enter into a tool are processed in your browser to produce a result and are not stored or transmitted to our servers. We do not require or offer accounts, and we do not store your calculator inputs or results.

How long we keep it

We don't independently archive analytics data ourselves — retention follows each provider's own settings. Google Analytics 4 retains event-level data for up to 14 months by default before automatic deletion.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by your browser. SportStatNow uses the following categories of cookies:

  • Essential cookies — required for the site to function and to remember your cookie choice. These do not track you and are always active.
  • Analytics cookies — set by Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics 4 to measure site usage. In regions where consent is required, these are not set until you accept them.

EEA, UK and Switzerland visitors

Where required by applicable law — including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and Swiss data protection law — your consent is obtained before non-essential cookies (analytics cookies) are set on your device. We implement Google's Consent Mode v2, which defaults analytics and advertising storage to a denied state for these regions until you choose to accept. SportStatNow does not currently serve ads; if that changes, this policy and a Google-certified Consent Management Platform will be updated first.

Your choices

  • Cookie banner. Where required (see below), a consent banner lets you accept or decline analytics cookies before they're set.
  • Browser controls. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in settings; blocking analytics cookies won't affect a calculator's ability to work, since all math runs locally in your browser.
  • Google Analytics opt-out. You can install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on to stop GA4 from collecting data across any site, not just this one.
  • Do Not Track. Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There's no industry-standard way to respond to it yet, so we don't currently change our behavior based on it — your consent choice in the cookie banner (where shown) is what actually governs analytics.

Children's privacy

SportStatNow is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. No account or personal information is required to use any calculator on the site.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, delete, or opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — for example under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or the GDPR. SportStatNow does not sell personal information, and because the site has no accounts, we don't hold a personal profile tied to your identity beyond the anonymized analytics described above. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the site evolves. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
